What We Install

We handle the full range of drop ceiling (suspended ceiling) projects, including:

  • New drop ceiling installations in basements and finished lower levels
  • Office, retail, and small commercial suspended ceilings
  • 2x2 and 2x4 grid systems with standard or decorative tiles
  • Tile replacement after water damage, staining, or breakage
  • Grid repair, releveling, and re-securing of loose runners
  • Recessed lights, vents, and access panels integrated into the grid
  • Removal and disposal of old or damaged ceiling systems

Our Drop Ceiling Installation Process

A good-looking drop ceiling comes down to planning, level lines, and patient grid work. Here’s how we approach every job.

1. Measure & Plan the Layout

We start by measuring the room and laying out the grid on paper so border tiles are balanced on both sides. Nobody wants a beautiful ceiling with a one-inch sliver of tile running down the edge. We also account for lights, vents, soffits, and any obstructions before a single bracket goes up.

2. Set the Height & Snap Level Lines

We use a laser level to establish the finished ceiling height around the entire perimeter, making sure to keep enough clearance for tiles to drop in and for lights, ductwork, or plumbing above the grid. Wall angle is then fastened cleanly to every wall, with tight miters at the corners.

3. Hang the Main Runners & Cross Tees

Main runners are hung from the joists with wire at consistent spacing, leveled to the wall angle, and locked into a square grid with cross tees. We check for square at multiple points so the tiles drop in flat and the grid lines look straight from every angle in the room.

4. Cut & Install Tiles, Lights, and Vents

Border tiles are measured and cut individually for a clean fit. Recessed lights, return vents, and access panels are dropped into the appropriate grid openings and supported as needed. Full-size tiles fill in the middle. We handle tiles carefully so the finished surface stays clean — no smudges, no chipped corners.

5. Clean-Up & Walkthrough

We haul away packaging, scraps, and any old ceiling material, vacuum the space, and walk the finished ceiling with you to confirm every tile, light, and vent looks the way it should. If something needs an adjustment, we adjust it before we pack up.

Common Reasons Homeowners Call Us

  • Finishing a basement and want a clean ceiling with access to plumbing above
  • Replacing an old, sagging, or water-stained suspended ceiling
  • Updating an office or commercial space before opening or re-leasing
  • Swapping discolored tiles for fresh, bright ones to brighten a room
  • Adding recessed LED lighting to an existing drop ceiling
  • Repairing a grid that’s sagged, twisted, or pulled loose over time

Drop Ceiling vs. Drywall Ceiling

Both have their place. A drywall ceiling looks more finished and modern, but it permanently hides everything above it. A drop ceiling costs less, installs faster, and — most importantly — keeps plumbing, electrical, and HVAC accessible. For basements, utility rooms, and most commercial spaces, that easy access is worth a lot the first time a pipe needs attention. If you’re torn between the two, we’re happy to walk through the trade-offs with you.
